Coastal blocks auction ready
Locals have a chance to snap up a block from the biggest land release Peterborough has seen in years.
Six of the Antares Estate's 38 lots will go under the hammer in March.
Selling agent David Falk said all blocks provided direct access to the beach and were ideal for family getaways or retirement living.
"Right at your doorstep are outdoor activities like fishing, diving the shipwrecks, surfing, breathtaking wilderness walks or the picturesque nine-hole golf course fronting the coastline;", he said.
"And once you build a home it will be surprising what views you will have.
"You'll be able to see the ocean, sand dunes and from the north a pleasant rural aspect:"
Mr Falk said the subdivision was a direct result of the town being connected to reticulated sewage.
While accepting it was a large-scale development, Mr Falk said the vendors did not want to destroy Peterborough's village.aspect.
He said five of the vendors lived in the township and were determined to preserve its unique character.
"All the blocks have building envelopes and the development has two large, open public spaces.
"If anything the vendors wish to enhance the beauty of the town."
The lots average 550 square metres in size.
Mr Falk said road access was off MacGillivray Street, while walkers could enter the estate via Casino and Childers streets.
"There won't be any through roads, so there will only be local traffic, making it a very peaceful place to live!'
All services, electricity, telephone, water and sewage, are connected underground.
Contractors are currently completing development works at the site.
Mr Falk expected the estate to be finished in February, in time for its March 9 auction.
He said buying a block was a once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase a "premium" building allotment in Peterborough.
"It is an exclusive, fully serviced and landscaped residential development in a spectacular setting," Mr Falk said.
The auction will be held onsite on Sunday, March 9 at 12.30pm.
